Wadden Sea Excursion

Enjoy an excursion to the bottom of the sea without getting wet!!!

When the water withdraws from the Wadden Sea upon low tide a whole new world is opening for 'landlubbers'.
The bottom of the sea lays open for a short time - an opportunity to explore.
There is lots of life. The excursion starts with a lecture with slides.

Tour of the bunkers

On this exiting trip we explore several underground bunkers from World War II.
We follow the old trenches and hear about life on Rømø during the occupation and about the military importance of the island as a base for some of World War II´s most advanced radar equipment.
At the end of the trip there will be a slide show.

Play with mussels

What does a mussel eat? Where does it live?
There are many mussels in various shapes and colours which with a little phantasy can become funny figures when they glued together.

Build a kite

Is is always windy on Rømø.
The island could also be called 'Island of the Kites'.
We enjoy building our own kites.
It is not difficult - we will show how to build a kite.
If the wind is blowing, we will test the kites in the garden of Tønnisgård before you take your kite home.

Tour on Rømø by horse-drawn carriage

Enjoy a wonderful tour by horse-drawn carriage and discover the beautiful nature of Rømø.
Flemming will be the coachman.
The carriage will be drawn by the beautiful Hannover horses Sam, Lasse or Cheik.
The tour leads you to Kirkeby plantation and Spidsbjerg, one of the three 'mountains' of Rømø.
It will be possible to climb the mountain which will give you the most beautiful view of the island.

Day trip til Helgoland

There are many islands along the german Northern Sea coast, but none of them can compares with Helgoland.
About 70 km from the mainland this red rock island rises out og the water and presents a unique fauna and flora and a mild climate, effected by the Golf stream.

Helgoland is an oasis of quietness and a unique nature monument, that doesn’t know any inviromental problems.
But Helgoland is also a many-sided holiday resort all year round.

Market day in Tønder

Every Tuesday and Friday morning the market square in Tønder becomes even more lively and colourful.
Flowers, fruit, vegetables, fish and cheese are sold here.
During the Chritsmas Town, Tønder Festival and other events on the Town Square in Tønder, the Market days are hold on Skibbroen in Tønder.
