The island can be attained in approximately 2.5 car hours of Hamburg and in approximately 3 car hours from Copenhagen and offers an enormous amount of experience possibilities ...
Here is the largest sand beach of Europe!
The Römö beach is between 500 and 2000 meters wide and about 16 kilometers long.
Lakolk bathing beach Römö
Römö is divided into eight areas, which I would like to present briefly.
Windsurfing in the North Sea Römö
One reaches the holiday house area Bolilmark by means of a road, which leads crosswise by a sea of heath.
This calm area with its large properties has holiday houses that fits completely into the nature, all building roofs are grass covered.
The houses are to a large extent protected by dunes.
Wonderful walk possibilities, and possibilities to observe the animal world, or a bicycle travel to the beach are only a few of the holidays possibilities
Infinite widths are waiting for you. That is not exaggerated.
When you enter the beach you can only guess where the water is.
Therefore it is allowed to drive on the beach with the car.
However one should not come too near to the sea with the car.
The sea can rise quite suddenly, because of the tide, and then your car may be turned into a submarine :)
If the sun shines you may see reflections in the sand, and if it is windless fata morgana can be seen.

Due to the Watt the beach is not suitable for bathing, however one can observe the whole variety of the tidal area small fry and bivalve shells.

The northern part of Römö
The southern part of the island contains a large holiday house area,
in which most houses of trees stand encircled by on large very nature-beautiful properties with heath vegetation.
In the north of this area Langdal lies, where all houses are covered with Reet and where in the proximity nursery gardens are direct.
In the middle part Sønderstrand lies with small dunes and with tree vegetation coined/shaped.
Here nearly each house stands so individually that nobody can feel "disturbed" of neighbours.
In the southern part you will find Lands End.
Also here a tree vegetation is present, pulled through with the wonderful heath landscape.
Just after climbing the dyke you stand on the beach watching the sea.
On foot it is possible to reach the broadest beach section of Römö.
Here there is also a cut off area for Kite Buggys.

The south beach on romo denmark
- there is more than 2000 meters walk to the water.
Sylt can be seen in the background
In Havneby is the port.
From here the ferry drives to the island Sylt/List.
Here there are one souvenir shops that is worthwhile to visit, 2 fish shops and different fish restaurants, which have completely decent prices.
We went four persons into the better, and paid about 80 Euro together.
And we did not eat fish cake, but plaice, salmon, a.s.o.
The plates were also full, and the meal delicious.
Here are predominant vacation homes on beautiful heath sites with view the sea or the tidal area.
Good purchase possibilities and walks are possible at the port.
For the children the Sommerland amusement park can be attained well to foot.
The area around the port is predominantly nature leaving and offers birds such as sea-dogs a beautiful homeland.

90% of the island are pure nature.
The local parts are called Juvre, Toftum, Bolilmark, Tvismark, Kongsmark, Lakolk, Kromose, Kirkeby, Osterhede, Landal, Vesterhede and Havneby.
A long road connects the north with the south.
Then there is side roads which leads to Lakolk and Sønderstrand.
The remainder are either settlement ways, or small roads, which interconnects the individual local villages.
In Lakolk is the purchase mile Römös.
Here also the edge of bathing is to be found.
